Celebrating Research Accomplishments 2020-2021

Many graduate students completed their graduate degrees and will be graduating Friday May 7th. This includes over 400 Master's students and over 100 doctoral students.

Awards

On April 12-16th, the Office of Graduate Studies, Office of Undergraduate Research, and the Office of Research and Economic Development held virtual Student Research Days. Over 200 graduate and undergraduate students participated in the week-long celebration of student research and creative work. Faculty, postdoc and graduate student judges met with students during Zoom Q and As and evaluated their presentations. Graduate students were awarded with $400 travel grants to help with conference travel costs. Links to their video presentations are provided below.

    Rosalind Kichler (Sociology/Women and Gender Studies): Won the J.J. & Eleanor S. Ogle Academic Year Fellowship from the Sociology Department. This award will support her in her final year of study by providing full support (tuition, stipend, and health insurance) for a semester.

    Evangela Oates (Educational Administration): Recipient of the 2021 Dissertation of the Year award by the Council for the Study of Community Colleges (CSCC). To be announced Friday Apr. 16 2021 during its annual conference. CSCC (https://cscconline.education.illinois.edu/ ) is an affiliate council of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) and the premier scholarly association for community college studies in the U.S.
