The Office of Graduate Studies is dedicated to the development of individuals with postdoctoral appointments. To help postdocs make the most of their current career stage, we provide information, individual consultation services, networking opportunities, and social events.
Consultation services available to postdocs through our office include teaching development, with or without a teaching assignment. We confer with our Postdoctoral Association, a volunteer body of postdocs from disciplines across campus, to identify postdoc needs and work to find or develop solutions.
We celebrate the contributions of postdocs to the University’s research enterprise with our annual Outstanding Postdoc Awards, an annual Postdoc Appreciation Week, and workshops.

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has established a two-person team of ombuds to be a resource for faculty (including postdocs) seeking to resolve difficulties that interfere with their work. The ombuds serve as designated 'neutral' parties who provide all UNL faculty members access to confidential, informal, independent and impartial assistance in managing conflicts and solving work-related problems.
