Nebraska residents enrolled in doctorate programs in the following fields of study: Engineering, Medical, Science, and Education. Eligible students are classified as residents for tuition purposes.
McCulley Fellowship honors outstanding doctoral students who are Nebraska residents and whose scholarship has potential for high impact on their field and/or the people of Nebraska in the areas of engineering, medicine, science, or education.
- Letter of support from UNL faculty member describing the potential impact of the nominee’s research or scholarship on their field and/or the people of Nebraska.
- Student must provide a personal statement describing their eligibility and the potential impact of their research or scholarship on their field and/or the people of Nebraska.
- Student must be currently enrolled and in good standing with an eligible program.
Funding
$5000 per student.

Eligible
All College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR), College of Education and Human Sciences (CEHS) and College of Engineering students are eligible. In College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Physics and Astronomy, Global and Integrative Studies, Psychology, Sociology, and Political Science are eligible. In Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts (HLFPA), PhD in Music with specializations in Music Education or Pedagogy.
Not Eligible
Not available to College of Architecture, College of Law, College of Business, College of Journalism and most programs in Fine & Performing Arts.
Awards Process
The McCulley award will be included in the annual OGS awards process, including the call for nominations, evaluation by the faculty on the fellowship committee, and participation in the awards ceremony. The $2500 will be paid out for both Fall and Spring semesters.
